European Church History: 1450-1650
This library guide contains information on the European Church in the Early Modern Years/ Renaissance. It focuses on the Protestant historical movement in the Christian church, the Reformation, and the Catholic response, the Counter-Reformation.
Included are general resources pertaining to the history of the these events (encyclopedias, dictionaries, web-resources, organizations, etc). This includes all pertinent information which is intended to give an overview of the information. Web-resources and organizations may contain additional resources not mentioned in this library guide.
Included are the resources which highlight the protestant perspective of church history. They are mostly written by those with a protestant bias, with a couple possible exceptions. The resources are divided first into general information about the protestant information (including key players, events, and locations); second are the resources pertaining to specific people of the protestant reformation. A short biography and additional resources are included.
